We saved our client ₹5 lakh+ on AWS
From ₹60,000 a month to ₹20,000 — for an app with just 2,000 monthly active users.

When we took over the tech from another team, the first thing we noticed was the HUGE AWS bill.
For just 2,000 monthly active users, ₹60,000 a month was ridiculous. We knew immediately that something was wrong, and started analysing the cost of every AWS service.
What we found
- Multiple EC2 instances just to serve a Next.js frontend (Vercel works fine 🙂).
- Multiple big EC2 instances handling the backend.
- Big RDS instances switched on at under 5% utilisation.
Our client was non-technical, and understandably didn't want to touch any of it. We brought the bill down to ₹20,000 a month — more than ₹5 lakh saved a year.
Why a studio can do this
The advantage of being a software studio is that we get to go to our clients' places, understand them entirely, and fix the holes that were left open.
That same client now refers us to their connections and keeps giving us more projects.
We're putting together a checklist to see if people are selling their soul to AWS. If you're an AWS expert, we'd love your suggestions to reduce cost.
